Hurricane Helene Relief Efforts
A Letter from Pastor Mike
Greetings Bethel Family!
After a major disaster, the likes that we are seeing in Ashville, NC, there is always a rush to want to send aid, help, and resources. The affected areas at the same time, don’t always know what to do or say to those who want to help, while they are in the midst of ongoing recovery efforts. However, there are still ways for churches, organizations, and people to pitch in with support that is beneficial.
Your Session has discerned on the best way to effectively help at this point and time, and would like to make that information available to you all. In the future, our Missions and Evangelism team may research more active ways and opportunities our church can help with the clean-up and rebuilding efforts after this unprecedented weather event for this region of our country. In the meantime, we can be the Church for our fellow man and woman, and send financial aid to organizations that are present and working to help.
Our denomination, ECO: A Covenant Order of Evangelical Presbyterians, partners with World Renew, a mission organization that steps in to these situations. It is a vetted organization that the denomination has already encouraged ECO churches to send finances to for support.
If you are able and would like to give financial support to an organization that is directly helping this region, please consider sending those finances to World Renew. Above you will find a link to the email correspondence that ECO sent to our churches. In this email, you will find a link to World Renew, wherein you can be assured the funds you send will go directly to Hurricane Helene clean-up/support.
If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the church office. Let us continue to pray and lift this region and its people in prayer. Continue to pray for the people in Florida, as they face, yet again, another major hurricane. May God’s peace, strength, and protection cover them all.
Your friend and Pastor,
Mike
